Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

By downloading or using TryScanning, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. The service

TryScanning lets you scan product barcodes and view an AI-generated health score, ingredient breakdown, and suggested alternatives, using community product databases (Open Food Facts, Open Beauty Facts, Open Products Facts) and AI analysis.

3. Not medical advice

All scores, breakdowns, and recommendations are for general informational purposes only. They are not medical, nutritional, or professional advice, and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition. Product data comes from community databases and may be incomplete or out of date — always check the physical product label, especially for allergens. Consult a qualified professional before making health decisions.

4. Subscriptions & free trial

• TryScanning Pro is offered as an auto-renewing subscription: yearly or monthly, each starting with a 3-day free trial.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at the end of the free trial unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
• The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your Apple ID settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions).
• Any unused portion of the free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• Prices are shown in your local currency and may vary by region.

5. Accounts

Creating an account (Sign in with Apple) is optional and used only to back up your scans, rank, and goals. You can delete your account and all associated cloud data at any time from Profile → Account → Delete account.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service, attempt to access it by unauthorized means, or use it in violation of applicable law.

7. Intellectual property

The app, its design, and its content (excluding community database content) are owned by us and protected by law. Community product data is provided under the respective open database licenses.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that scores or product data are accurate, complete, or current.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including decisions made based on the information it displays.

10. Changes & termination

We may modify the service or these terms; continued use after changes means acceptance. We may suspend access for violations of these terms.
